Surgery Update

Jacob had his surgery this morning. Of course the doctor was running late so we had to wait longer than we had hoped but that seems about typical. The surgery went very well and only took about 15 minutes. Then they had us come back to be with him while he came around. He was really out of it and confused but he came around. Once we got home he rested for a bit and then decided he wanted to eat. After he had food in his system he was back to himself. By 11:30 am he was playing and laughing. Now he is taking his afternoon nap. The doctor said that his adenoids were huge. So hopefully once the swelling goes down from the surgery he will be able to breathe better. We are just glad that it went well and he seems like he will be better for it.

Jacob

Well Jacob is finally scheduled to have his adenoids removed. Hopefully that will help all this congestion he has been dealing with his whole life. The surgery is scheduled for Feb. 25. Yup next week. Unfortunately he has been home sick this whole week. I am hoping to take him back to daycare tomorrow. As of now the surgery is still on. But he has an appointment with his pediatrician on Monday just to make sure he is good to go. He pretty much has a bad cold. But then Kyle took him to the Dr. yesterday and he has a mild double ear infection. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick it and we can proceed. If not, then we will postpone. Gotta do whatever is safest for him.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We hope that all our loved ones are enjoying this special holiday. We had a great one. The boys were spoiled to pieces but who's gonna complain. We love our family and are so grateful to have each other.

Thanksgiving

Papa & Andrew in their new matching shirts. Andrew idolizes Papa and was thrilled that they had the same shirt.

Riding together.

Always looking to Papa for what to do next.

Teaching Moment.

One of my favorite things is listening to my dad play the guitar.

Obviously it was for the boys too.

Jacob loves the horses too. It won't be long until him and Andrew are both Papa's little shadows.

Andrew was so good at holding onto Jacob.

My little cowboy!

Andrew & Jacob with great grandpa LeRoy.

For Thanksgiving we headed north to be with my family. My brother and his family also came down from Utah. It is always great when we can all get together. Unfortunately I was so stinking sick that I wasn't up for much. Thanks to Kyle and my entire family for taking good care of me and the boys. So we didn't do a whole lot. But of course the was much horse riding going on. It was cold and wet but as soon as we got there Andrew started working Papa. He was a broken record asking to ride. Papa kept saying tom. when the weather would be nicer but a 3 year old does not get nor care about that statement. It didn't take long before Papa gave in and they were out on the horses. Both boys have a great time around the horses and I am so glad they are not scared of them. If we lived closer to my parents Andrew would probably move in them. The look he has in his eyes when he looks at my dad is amazing to me. You can just see the admiration there. He will just follow Papa around and mimick exactly everything he does. Even though I was crashed out everyone seemed to have a good time and it was great to see everyone. Hopefully next time I will be able to enjoy it too.

Family Pictures in the park.

The idea here was sunglasses for all. Jake threw his off.

I like this one, even though it is strange to see Kyle with no glasses. That is Andrew "cheese" smile.

Andrew the tree hugger.

Even though Jake can walk he still likes to be silly.

Great father son pic.

Fun with grandma.

Doesn't get much cuter than this.

Another great one of Kyle & Jake.

There is my walking man.

Halloween

The boys with the pumpkin daddy carved for them.

Andrew as Stitch (from Lilo & Stitch)

Jacob as Squirt the turtle (from Finding Nemo)

Well here are some pictures from Halloween. The boys sure were cute all dressed up and had a blast trick or treating. We went to Riverside to hang out with family. They set up a fire pit in the driveway and have tons of yummy food. Then we take the kids around the neighborhood. It really is more fun with all the extra people. Thank Kevin & Amber for having us.
